W. J. Small is a Sweet Briar graduate from the class of '83 and is an avid historian, focusing on late medieval Britain. She is also the author of A Knight's Duty.
Her newest book, The Failed Apprentice, is the first book in a three-book series featuring protagonist Will Patten. Like A Knight’s Duty, this book is historical fiction.
