The Sweet Briar plates were originally produced in earthenware by the Royal Cauldon Company. Royal Cauldon was bought by Wedgwood which stopped producing earthenware to begin working in bone china. Imported from England, the plates were distributed through Jones, McDuffie, and Stratton Corporation until discontinued. Today, Lenox has redesigned the pattern by hand and modeled a beautiful green fine bone china plate for Sweet Briar.
